Bridges and crowns are devices that fit over the existing tooth or implant and are cemented in place, by a dentist. Gaps left by a missing tooth can not only cause the remaining teeth to shift, but it can also lead to gum diseases and TMJ disorders.

    What Are Crowns & Bridges?

Crowns and bridges provide a lasting solution for replacing missing or damaged teeth, restoring both function and a natural appearance. These durable restorations not only enhance the look of your smile but also improve your ability to chew and speak comfortably, making everyday activities easier. By closing gaps, crowns and bridges help prevent bone loss, tooth shifting, and gum disease.

You’ll be able to enjoy all your favorite foods without dietary limitations, as these restorations are designed to be strong and reliable. They require no special maintenance and blend seamlessly into your oral care routine, with the option to update or replace them over time for continued health and aesthetics.

    Dental Crowns

A dental crown is a cap that fits over the prepared tooth and is cemented in place. Crowns can be made from resins, metal alloys, or porcelain fused to metal. Porcelain and resin crowns are made to look and feel like your natural tooth. Crowns are commonly used to cover or cap a damaged tooth or an implant. Your dentist may recommend a crown to:

    • Restore a large filling where there is insufficient tooth
    • Protect a weak tooth from fracturing
    • Restore a fractured tooth
    • Attach a bridge
    • Cover a dental implant
    • Cover a discolored or poorly shaped tooth
    • Cap a tooth that had a root canal
    Dental Bridges

A Dental Bridge works to cover the space where the teeth are missing.  Bridges are cemented to natural teeth or implants surrounding the space. Bridges are mostly used if you’re missing a tooth or more.

The bridge consists of a crown for each tooth on either side of the gap. Attached to the crowns are artificial teeth, to replace the missing teeth that create the gap. The bridge is a non-removable prosthetic that restores your smile and the chewing or biting surface of missing teeth.
